About SC Innovators
SC Innovators is a machine building company in Chandigarh, set up in 2017 and in industrial automation since 2021. We design and build special purpose machines, automated assembly and testing systems and electrical control panels for manufacturers, and supply industrial components.
We take a project end to end — application study at the customer's plant, concept and mechanical design, control system design and programming, in-house manufacturing and assembly, factory acceptance testing, site commissioning and after-sales support.
Our team is small and hands-on. Interns here work on real machines and real projects, next to the engineers who build them — not on made-up exercises.
Purpose of the Internship
You will build and test the control panels that run our machines: reading schematics, wiring power and control circuits correctly, labelling, testing and keeping the drawings up to date.
A short internship covers wiring practice and one panel section under supervision. A long internship covers complete panels and machine-end wiring.
What You Will Work On
1. Panel Wiring
- Wire power and control circuits from schematics — correct wire size, colour code, ferrules, crimping, dressing and labelling.
- Mount components — MCBs, contactors, relays, SMPS, terminal blocks, controllers (including vibratory feeder controllers).
2. Machine-End Wiring
- Wire sensors, valves and motors to the machine; route cables, use glands and drag chains neatly.
3. Testing
- Continuity, insulation and earth checks before power-on, with your mentor.
- Help with I/O checks and first power-up.
4. Drawings
- Update circuit drawings in AutoCAD (or AutoCAD Electrical) so the drawing matches the panel as built; prepare cable and terminal lists.
Who Can Apply
- Studying or recently completed one of the courses listed under Eligibility.
- Can read a basic electrical schematic.
- Knows basic electrical safety and can use a multimeter.
- Neat, careful hand work.
Good to Have
- AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Any panel wiring done before.
- Knowledge of motor starters (DOL, star-delta).
What We Look For
- Neat and consistent — a panel is judged by its wiring.
- Checks before calling it done.
- Reports a mistake immediately.
- Follow workshop safety at all times — PPE, machine guards, and never operating a machine without being authorised and supervised. Never work on a live panel; power is switched on only by your mentor.
What Success Looks Like
| First 2 weeks | Wires a practice section to our standard; knows ferrule and colour codes; passes the safety briefing. |
|---|---|
| End of a short internship | One panel section wired, tested and labelled correctly, with the drawing updated. |
| End of a long internship | Complete panels and machine-end wiring for at least one machine, tested and documented. |
What You Get Instead of a Stipend
This is an unpaid internship. What it gives you instead:
- Hands-on experience in a working industrial automation company — machines, tools and real deadlines.
- A defined project with deliverables you can show, reviewed by your mentor every week.
- An internship certificate stating the areas you were trained in.
- A written reference for interns who perform well.
- First consideration for a paid role when one opens in your area.
- For outstanding interns, a completion award may be given at the Director's discretion. It is not promised and not part of the offer.
What this internship does not include: a stipend, a travel or food allowance, accommodation, or a guaranteed job. We would rather say that clearly now.
Selection
Selection is three steps: (1) application screening; (2) a short written test at our works — the common aptitude paper plus a short task related to this internship; (3) one interview with a practical question. Selected interns receive an internship offer letter and sign a confidentiality undertaking before starting.
How to Apply
- Email your CV to [email protected] with the subject line "Application — Panel Wiring & Electrical Intern (Short / Long)".
- For any query, call or WhatsApp +91-9855104671.
- Please include: your college, course and year; whether you want the short (6–8 weeks) or long (6 months) internship, and the dates you are available; and a few lines on why this internship interests you.
- Mention any wiring or panel work you have done, with photos if possible.
- If your college needs a training letter or a no-objection certificate, mention it in your email.
